A new Solution for Surface-Based EM Surveys
The NovEM system is a premier solution for surface-based EM surveys, designed for the deep detection of conductive orebodies like massive sulphide deposits. It combines sensitivity exceeding high temperature SQUID sensors with a practical, field-ready design, making it ideal for both active-source Time-Domain EM (TEM) and passive-source EM surveys.
The cornerstone of the NovEM system is the orthoPod, a 3-axis B-field sensor assembly. Its performance represents a significant advancement over traditional technology, offering a noise floor much lower than a standard fluxgate magnetometer.
Core Technology: The orthoPod integrates three proprietary Novaminex-24 B-Field sensors into its folding legs. These feedback induction coils are engineered to sense the magnetic field across an exceptionally wide frequency band, from 0.2 Hz to 25 kHz, allowing for the detection of a wide range of geological targets.
Practical Field Use: Recognizing the demands of fieldwork, the orthoPod is built for efficiency. It folds flat in seconds, simplifying transportation. For maximum portability, the entire unit can be disassembled into its individual coil sensors without tools, allowing for easy packing and calibration.
NovaBox Data Logger: Each orthoPod is paired with a NovaBox, a robust 3-channel data logger that records data at a high sampling rate of 50,000 samples per second.
The "Arrow" Orientation Tool: Precise sensor orientation is critical for data quality. The NovEM system includes the handheld "Arrow" tool, which contains a precision, low-drift Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU). This device provides an accurate and reliable determination of the orthoPod's orientation, even in areas with variable local magnetic fields.
The NovEM system has been used successfully for surveying in challenging environments and currently deployed in a number of exploration programs.
